Creating this newsletter in January was one of the more impulsive decisions I’ve made. I had the idea late at night and couldn’t sleep, so I wrote it down on a scrap of paper next to me and created an account on Substack the next day. By the end of the week, I drafted the first edition of Prompted and sent it to my girlfriend, family, and a few close friends without their permission.
6 months later, Prompted is my favorite thing to do each week. It feels like I’ve been writing to you all for years, but at the same time everything still feels new. I imagine these feelings will stay with me for some time to come and I hope you look forward to reading the newsletter each week as much as I look forward to writing it.
As for Prompted’s big news, premium subscriptions are launching this week!
I’m excited to dive even deeper, provide more opportunities for reflection, and create an opportunity for this community to become a bit better each day together. Prompted Premium includes additional prompts, opportunities to connect with fellow readers, and a way to support my work directly.
To support my work and gain full access to the Prompted community, consider becoming a paid subscriber.
There are lots of people on the internet who will confidently tell you exactly what to do and why, but I believe there are countless ways to accomplish the same things and everyone is striving for something different. My goal with Prompted is to shine a light on interesting ideas and encourage you to reflect on those ideas for yourself. In that reflection, it’s my hope that you’ll discover ideas, frameworks, or strategies that encourage your journey of becoming a bit better each day.
Individual reflection is powerful, but I believe a community of like-minded individuals makes the process of chasing the best version of ourselves not only more enjoyable but more fruitful as well. Encouragement, accountability, and perspective from others pushes us further than we can manage on our own and opens us up to new ideas.
No one is self-made and the foundation of Prompted Premium is collaborative so we can all reflect, learn, and grow together. This will never be a place where I ask you to pay for the “secret to success” or a “5-step program to happiness”. Instead, it will be a place to ask difficult questions and think about important ideas and strategies together.
Free subscribers will still receive Prompted’s weekly Sunday Edition with a quote, thoughts from me, prompts for reflection, and additional resources.
Premium subscribers will receive…
Prompted’s Sunday Edition
Bite-Sized Prompts throughout the week (usually Wednesdays and Fridays)
Access to Prompted’s Journaling Collective, a monthly video call to journal, reflect, and discuss becoming a bit better each day together
Exclusive access to long-form blog posts and essays
Prompted Premium is a reader-supported publication. To support my work and join our community, consider becoming a paid subscriber.
